Happy Birthday!!!!

So today is Husband's Birthday!!

I want to wish him much love and happiness on his special day. Birthday's are a time to let your special friends know just how much they mean to you, and darling you mean the world to me! Love you mon cherie.xxxx

In the birthday spirit this morning, while I was on Pinterest, I found all these beautiful birthday cakes. Thought I would share them with you, they are simply gorgeous! Pinterest really is addictive. Yet another stalling tactic when there is work to be done... Ooooh la la!

I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but these are too divine, even to eat! My favourite local treat place is The Patisserie in Illovo. It is possibly one of the most delightful Alice in Wonderland meets Breakfast at Tiffany's indulgence spots. Details:  +27 (0) 11 268 0044 Post office centre, Rudd road, Illovo (behind Thrupps centre.)

So tonight I am going to see Phantom of the Opera with the girls from work. Literally can’t wait! Haven’t seen it since I was a little girl, when we had a family trip in London. I feel like a fat kid in a cake store just thinking about it! (Hahahaha)

For me there is nothing like a live performance. Even when it comes to my much-dreaded pet hate, sport. There is something about viewing the genuine sweat and tears. Something that a TV box just doesn’t stand a chance against. Don’t get me wrong, popcorn, duvet and dvd’s has it's place, but theatre darling has major appeal.

Alas, however, gone are the days where we wore fabulous outfits… Coats, gloves, horse drawn carriages... Sigh!

A girl can still dream anyway...

Have a wonderful Wednesday evening!

My feminist manifesto

Before we get started, here is Wikipedia's definition of feminism:
Feminism is a collection of movements aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women.[1][2] In addition, feminism seeks to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist is a "person whose beliefs and behavior are based on feminism."[3]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feminism

The glaring issue for me in this definition and in the movement of feminism in general, is the word EQUAL.

Why in feminism's name would you want to fight for EQUAL-ity to be a male, when on ALL levels we are far, FAR superior. I mean, surely the reason feminism came about was to promote women and give them opportunities to prove their worth was far beyond that of a male, and not as his equal. I just don't for the life of me understand why anyone would fight for equal advantages when they should be fighting for better advantages.

I know this may sound completely ridiculous and somewhat discrediting to all the women who have fought for gender equality and rights. But, look I am not trying to take away from what our fore-mothers have done. We needed them to do what they did to get where we are today. Thanks to them we actually do have a fair chance. But what I am trying to say is here onwards, lets fight to aim higher and better than being equal to the less fairer sex, we share our world with.

My father always brought me up to believe that their was nothing a man could do that a woman couldn't do. I believe there is nothing a man can do that a woman can't do better. That's right darlings, BETTER!

So please, from the bottom of my heart I beg all quasi, full, semi, marginal, in-between feminists to never again strive for mediocrity and equality but to rather transcend that into superiority and all out domination. Why should anyone fight for less?

I herewith pledge that I will never fight to be below or next to a man, but rather above. Because lets face it, that is where we all belong.

GIRL POWER!

Lovisa and Wednesday loving!!!!!

OMG! Found the most delicious jewelry store in Cresta. Its like a mixture of Sass Diva and Accessorize but so much better! It is called Lovisa....

Loving Lovisa baby! I went totally buck wild! Here are some of my purchases:) Had to hold myself back though, otherwise I would have broken the bank!

Colour blocking bangles... Something I would never be able to resist!

How delectable are these tribal style earrings?

Shield and weapon matchings rings...

My favourite purchase, a beaded cuff! Roman Empire meets beaded luxury! Dream Combo...

Apparently they will be opening more branches soon! Nothing like unique accessory purchases to make any girl smile!

Changes and all that jazz...

I'M BAAAAAACK!

Ok, wow, OMG! Wow! That's all I have to say! It has been the craziest, nuts, mental, mofo, wofo, nadda, shanadda (um ok to precise fourteen days.) Yes, I know I have been so useless! I am a horrible blogger! (*Slap on wrist*). I am sorry guys. When I try to even begin explaining my last two weeks, it's not even worth it. There is in fact only one word necessary to describe it in a peaceful, calm, manner... CHANGE... So much change I feel borderline ill. They say change is as good as a holiday, well honey; I need a holiday from all this change...

But I promise I am back with vengeance! And I will never go away for so long again. Posh has been most upset with me about my disappearing act, but I vow to you all I will never go away for so long again. Sorry my pumpkins!

On the note of change... I found this word/colour/font poster- vibe on Pinterest. And every time over the last two weeks when the change almost petered on unbearable I looked at this. Change means can.

It is so true. We get all scared and nervous when there is change. BUT we don't stop to think. By being able to undergo change, it means we CAN do things about our lives. We always complain when we feel that things aren't going our way, but on the flip side WE ARE ABLE to enable the change.

So often I hear people complain about their jobs, weight, boyfriends, families, and so the list goes on. However, we forget that we are more than a hundred percent capable of changing this. We can. I can like to change!

It was my birthday yesterday. Sigh! I'm getting old! Anyway, no time for whinging! While I was having a massage (treat to myself, which I hope is something you all do on your birthdays!!) I got thinking about all the change that has happened in my life lately and how I have handled it. Not well I am afraid, (baring in mind my shocking blogging duties was only ONE of the symptoms of all this change). So I have decided as an enabled person I will make a couple of changes that I can do and should do!

1. I will blog a minimum of 3 times a week.
2. I will drink at least 4 glasses of water a day.
3. I will read more books instead of falling asleep to the crime channel.
4. I will stop spending so much money and put it towards travel and future boob job fund.
5. I will go to gym more regularly so I am not a flabby hephalump in September.
6. I will stop drinking so much wine.
7. I will stop obsessing over my lack of love life.
8. I will do more cultural things.
9. I will attempt to learn something new everyday.
10. I will wake up and be happy that I can change.

I know these sound a bit like new years resolutions. But considering I only entered my technical New Year last year at 17:45 (my precise birth time) I rate I can get away with starting over. They say 2012 is the year of change, BRING IT ON! (AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!)

So considering all this and my philosophy on changing means we CAN. I thought I would start my jump into change by giving my blog a new look... Gone pastel, darlings, hope you like it!

Have a stunning Tuesday evening, I have girl's dinner tonight, Posh bring the champagne I have started blogging again!!!
