Burlesque Baby

Last night I had an incredible ab-perving evening, after the most intense week with my good friend Pippy Longstocking:) We went to the Cosmo Sexiest Men of 2012 Party. Those bodies were totally drool worthy. Still fanning myself...

Princess Gina used to actually date one of the finalists. (Won't mention any names...) Damn girl you are one lucky woman! Phew!

Moving on so my hot flush can alleviate...

I found this fabulous Glamour Magazine photo shoot on the Daily Mail website with Amanda Seyfried. Absolutely love her. She is not only beautiful, but it seems her acting talent is not just limited to being the blonde bombshell, that falls in love with a hero (aka Dear John). She is currently in pre-production for Les Misérables. Which is pretty exciting!

That phone is simply drool worthy! I WANT!

And the shoes! Every girl should have a pair of red shoes baby!

So, I know its somewhat different, but the art direction of the shoot got me thinking of my secret obsession of what I like to call my previous life. Burlesque my dear friends! I just know I was deeply entrenched in that world. The allure of the outfits, feminine beauty and general fabulosity gets me so excited I just feel some creepy connection, I cant explain it...

Today's revival of Burlesque (lets be honest it is suddenly very popular) as an art form can definitely be partly attributed to the magnificent Dita Von Teese. She has genuinely reignited everyone’s interest in this unique form of body expression. She really is a very interesting woman who just oozes sex appeal. LOVE HER!

Us women, can genuinely take a leaf out of her book with regards to confidence, and feeling comfortable in our bodies. In an age where pressure to be perfect is so evident, someone like Dita is a more positive body-type role model compared to the ghost-like anorexics that are hampering our reality of what’s beautiful.

Check out some of these old school fantastical Burlesque-ish pin-up posters I found. There is something every woman can find in the inspiration of this subtle, yet alluring sexuality.

Now lets not forget the incredible movie, Moulin Rouge. Not only did this movie have Burlesque as a central theme.... But also, LOVE, my favourite genre..... Sigh.

Nicole Kidman's outfits were so incredible, I think that whoever was in charge of the wardrobe deserves recognition beyond anything that a mere mortal could bestow upon her (ITS DEFINITELY A HER!). Style inspiration in a movie that is absolute perfection.

CRINGE, but it is true, every girl’s sneaky pleasure of watching the recent movie, Burlesque, is a reality. Admit it... Yes, yes I know, the acting capabilities of Christina is questionable. But boy oh boy, you are lying if you don’t wish you could be draped in pearls on a stage with an incredible voice while a hot piece of meat falls in love with you...

So for today, go home put on some killer high heels, a sexy outfit, drape yourself in pearls, pour a glass of wine, turn up the tunes and love your fabulous body. It’s the only one you will ever have.

I already know what I'm wearing...

In the words of the great Dita Von Teese.

"I advocate glamour. Every day. Every minute."

Kisses,
Namaste,
Ciao,
God Bless,
Love,
Michelle
